Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene is a copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene. It is a soft plastic whose tensile strength, wear resistance and creep resistance are lower than many engineering plastics. The material can be made into granular products for extrusion and molding, used as powder for fluidized bed and electrostatic coating, and can also be made into water dispersion. Semifinished products include films, plates, rods and single fibers.

Main features:

(1) Electrical insulation performance: The dielectric coefficient is almost unchanged in a wide frequency range, which is 2.1, and the volume resistivity is very high.

(2) Heat resistance: second only to polytetrafluoroethylene, it can be used continuously in the temperature range of -85～200℃. Even under the extreme conditions of -200°C and 260°C, its performance does not deteriorate, and it can be used for a short time.

(3) Chemical resistance: Similar to polytetrafluoroethylene, it has excellent chemical resistance. Except for reacting with fluorine element, molten alkali metal and chlorine trifluoride at high temperature, it will not be corroded when it comes in contact with other chemicals.

(4) Mechanical properties: Compared with polytetrafluoroethylene, the hardness and tensile strength are slightly improved, and the friction coefficient is also slightly larger than that of polytetrafluoroethylene.

(5) Other properties: Very good oxidation resistance in the atmosphere, and high atmospheric stability. Radiation resistance is better than PTFE, slightly inferior to polyethylene, and can be used as a radiation resistant material.

Industrial applications:

1. Electronic and electrical: widely used in the transmission line of electronic equipment used under high temperature and high frequency, the internal connection line of the electronic computer, the aerospace wire, and other special purpose installation lines, oil mine logging cables, submersible motor winding wires, micro Motor lead wires, etc.

2. Chemical industry: pipes and fittings, towers, tanks and accessories, hoses, valves, pumps, films, monofilaments, heat exchangers, heat shrinkable tubes, etc.
