Identify deficiencies:
1, PTFE has "cold flow". It is the plastic deformation (creep) of material products under the action of continuous load for a long time, which brings certain limitations to its application. For example, when PTFE is used as a gasket, the bolt is tightly screwed for a tight seal, so that the gasket will be compressed by "cold flow" (creep) when it exceeds a certain compressive stress. These shortcomings can be overcome by adding appropriate filler and improving the structure of parts.
2. PTFE has outstanding non-viscosity, which limits its industrial application. It is an excellent anti-stick material, which makes it extremely difficult to bond with the surface of other objects.
3. The linear expansion coefficient of PTFE is 10~20 times that of steel, which is larger than most plastics. The linear expansion coefficient changes irregularly with the change of temperature. In the application of PTFE, if insufficient attention is paid to this aspect of performance, it is easy to cause losses.
Chemical properties
Atmospheric aging resistance: radiation resistance and low permeability: long-term exposure to the atmosphere, the surface and performance remain unchanged.
Noncombustibility: Oxygen limit index below 90.
Acid and alkaline resistance: insoluble in strong acids, strong bases and organic solvents (including magic acid, namely fluoroantimony sulfonic acid).
Oxidation resistance: can resist the corrosion of strong oxidant.
Acid base: neutral.
