About Material PPSU

PPSU is an amorphous thermal plastic with high transparency and high hydrolytic stability. The product can withstand repeated steam sterilization.

PPSU, scientific name: Polyphenylene sulfone resins. PPSU polyphenyl sulfone resin is a product of the PSF series of polysulfone (Polysulfone). It is a novel thermoplastic engineering plastic, which refers to a polymer compound containing a sulfone group and an aromatic nucleus in the main chain of the molecule, and is non-crystalline.

Wide Range of Uses

1. Suitable for making heat-resistant parts, insulating parts, wear-reducing and wear-resistant parts, instrument parts and medical equipment parts. Polyarylsulfone is suitable for making low-temperature working parts.

2. Polysulfone is often used in the electronic and electrical industry to manufacture integrated circuit boards, coil bobbin holders, contactors, sleeve holders, capacitor films, and high-performance alkaline battery casings.

3. Polysulfone is used in household appliances for microwave oven equipment, coffee heaters, humidifiers, hair dryers, cloth steaming machines, beverage and food dispensers, eating utensils, water cups, milk bottles, etc. It can also replace non-ferrous metals for precision structural parts such as clocks, copiers, cameras, etc.

4. Polysulfone has passed the relevant regulations in the field of medicine and food in the United States, and can replace stainless steel products. Because polysulfone is resistant to steam, hydrolysis, non-toxic, resistant to high-temperature steam sterilization, high transparency, and good dimensional stability, it can be used as a surgical tool tray, sprayer, fluid controller, heart valve, pacemaker, gas mask, Tooth tray and so on.

Injection Molding Process

Since the properties and use levels of modified polysulfone vary greatly, and the processing process variables are also large, the injection molding process should be adjusted accordingly as follows:

1. Drying: 90℃-110℃/3-4Hr

2. Injection temperature: 260-280℃

3. Mold temperature: 80-100℃
